Gintare currently is a student at the University of Edinburgh. Her academic background is in psychology and sociology. She also has experience in and is passionate about photography, journalism and community work. She started to work at the institute as an Employ.ed student intern in summer 2022, and has continued the role part-time since September. She works closely with Edinburgh Futures Institute’s Creative Projects Manager and helps to manage the various creative projects happening in the institute.

Gintare’s main projects include “Recycling a Hospital” (a project which seeks to honour the experiences of people whose lives were touched by the Old Royal Infirmary), Edinburgh Futures Institute’s regular student photography competitions, and “Utopia Lab” sessions. She has also helped curate the exhibition of student artwork and historical material at 13-15 South College Street, one of the Edinburgh Futures Institute’s temporary spaces before it moves to the new building.
