“The Centre for Biomedicine, Self and Society (CBSS) research and teaching focusses on the complex social, legal, and ethical landscape that characterises contemporary biomedicine and healthcare. It is interdisciplinary, drawing upon critical perspectives from across the social studies of science and medicine, the sociology of health and illness, and the health humanities. We work in dialogue and collaboration with biomedicine, public health, and diverse communities across wider society. Through this engaged approach, CBSS aims to breaks down longstanding barriers to knowledge production and generates transformative understandings of health and healthcare”
