Stage Analytics is an innovative platform designed to empower theatre artists, producers, and venues with actionable data insights. By leveraging advanced analytics, including AI and natural language processing, they provide tools for audience engagement, marketing optimisation, and performance tracking. Their mission is to democratise access to analytics for emerging artists and smaller productions, enabling them to make data-driven decisions that amplify their creative potential and financial sustainability.
While the platform is still in active development, it builds on the success of a Creative Informatics Challenge Project in collaboration with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society. This groundwork has explored innovative ways to map audience responses and amplify the lifecycle of reviews for performances. Currently, Stage Analytics is being considered for collaboration by academic institutions via Interface, demonstrating growing interest in the platform’s potential to transform the industry.
Through their subscription-based data dashboard, they aim to deliver a transformative resource for the performing arts sector, fostering data-driven decision-making, reducing biases, and promoting a richer, more diverse live entertainment ecosystem.
“Edinburgh Futures Institute offers a unique environment for interdisciplinary collaboration, aligning perfectly with Stage Analytics’ mission to integrate cutting-edge technology into the creative industries. By working alongside the institute’s vibrant network, we aim to refine our platform, build impactful partnerships, and drive innovation in data accessibility for the performing arts.”
