The George David Family Scholarships: Earth Scholars at Edinburgh Futures Institute offers two scholarships to support applicants who are from countries most impacted by climate change, for entry in 2024-25 to the online Postgraduate Certificate Programme in Circular Economy.

We are delighted to announce the George David Family Scholarships: Earth Scholars at Edinburgh Futures Institute.

We are offering two scholarships, for online study only, in the sum of £9000 each.

The scholarships will support applicants who are from countries most impacted by climate change, for entry in 2024-25 to the online Postgraduate Certificate Programme in Circular Economy. 

To apply for the scholarship an applicant must be domiciled in countries most impacted by climate change. This includes all countries in the following regions:

  • Central America, including Mexico, and the Caribbean islands
  • South America
  • Africa
  • Pacific Island nations
  • Middle East vulnerable countries: Syria, Yemen, Afghanistan, Pakistan
  • Southeast Asia: India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines

All scholarship award holders are expected to be energetic members of our postgraduate community and will engage with opportunities to present their work to the wider student and staff body during the period covered by their award.  We offer our postgraduates a range of training and development opportunities appropriate to their programme of study.

Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, the equivalent of a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree at the undergraduate level. 

Applicants applying to Postgraduate programmes longer than one year may apply, but must be aware that this funding is for one year only, therefore, applicants are advised to budget accordingly. 

The scholarship deadline is 23:59 BST 11th July 2024.​​​​​
