We invite you to visit our two new exciting exhibitions at Edinburgh Futures Institute, on display from April to May 2026.
Imbrication is our latest digital artwork exhibition, while Future Voices showcases creative interdisciplinary work from our undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Imbrication

Edinburgh-based artist France Priest’s “Imbrication” showcases colourful and playful animated images: motifs from the realm of neoclassical architecture dance and evolve on screen, tracing a journey from the ancient, analogue and physical to the modern, digital and abstract.
The digital artwork draws from craft techniques such as tiling, mosaic, marquetry, weave and stitch, creating mathematical pattern structures that evolve and are ‘re-encoded’ as algorithms on the screen.
Imbrication is co-commissioned by Aberdeen Performing Arts and New Media Scotland’s Alt-w Fund with investment from Creative Scotland and the University of Edinburgh.
The artwork is available to view from April to the end of May 2026 on our large digital screen at Level 2.
Future Voices

Future Voices: Edinburgh Futures Institute Student Exhibition 2026 showcases work from our undergraduate and postgraduate students featuring artworks, posters, texts and images that highlight diverse interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary challenges.
The exhibit explores how our students are responding to and finding their place within a rapidly changing world, from sustainability to global health, conflict to inequality.
“Students from the MA (Hons) Interdisciplinary Futures undergraduate programme, alongside those on the postgraduate programmes at EFI, present their unique and inventive responses to the challenges they are exploring. Creativity is essential in these programmes as it empowers students to explore interdisciplinary solutions, innovate within diverse fields, and address complex global challenges with fresh perspectives.” –
Oleksandra Pidsukha, Curator , MSc Creative Industries
The Future Voices exhibit is on display from 6 April to 8 May 2026 at the Anthea Bond Exhibition Room, Level 1.
