Emma Craigen’s role within the Edinburgh Futures Institute stretches across a few teams but she primarily sits within the Student Support and Experience Team, working closely with students, academics, other professional services staff and departments across the wider University. She works to improve the Institute’s student experience from pre-arrival, time of studying, right through to graduation. She is responsible for the student experience of recruitment events including pre-arrival communications, open days, offer-holder days, scholarships and prospective student visits. A large part of her role comprises of working with the Future Institute’s student representatives, ambassadors and the Student Union as the facilitator of peer-support schemes, and working with the Learning Technology Team to improve the fusion experience of online students.
Emma is also assisting in the development of one of the Institute’s undergraduate courses ‘Reflections on Interdisciplinary Practice’. Emma has worked for the University of Edinburgh for over 4 years and has a degree in Social History from the same University, where she specialised in the youth experience of media and culture across the 20th Century.
