Iwona leads the design and delivery of the Responsible Innovation (RI) framework, focusing on ethics, safeguarding, and youth engagement. She collaborates with and supports internal and external partners in upholding ethical governance standards. She has a keen interest in the ethical use of data and AI. 

Iwona has previously led the implementation of the RI framework, focusing on embedding practical toolkits at the Data for Children Collaborative to enable Data for Good projects. 

Previously, Iwona supported the successful launch of the Centre for Technomoral Futures, where she led the website development and launch of the centre’s events series.

Iwona has experience in delivering effective communication methods. With her website and content design expertise, she brings a creative flair to her work while ensuring effective and accessible communication across various platforms. She has an academic background in Philosophy and Politics, with a particular interest in data ethics, the relationship between technology and society, and issues of social inequalities. She advocates for responsible innovation in support of delivering data projects that create lasting societal benefits.

New Innovation Service

Edinburgh Futures Institute is developing a new Innovation Service to support partners, researchers and collaborators deliver challenge-led innovation. This new service brings together expertise and practice across the Institute and comprises of three new teams: the Futures and Design Team, the Collaborative Impact Team and the Data-led Methods and Research Technology Team.

Collaborative Impact team

The Collaborative Impact team develops methods, strategies and frameworks that enable challenge-led partnerships that tackle complex problems. This team also supports the Data Collaborative for Children.
