Katie Murray is responsible for initiating and maintaining relationships across the public, private, and third sectors with Edinburgh Futures Institute’s educational offer to build a challenge-led portfolio of activities with demonstrable ethical, social, cultural, economic, and environmental impact—an integral part of the institute’s value proposition.
Katie managed the design and development of the Edinburgh Futures Institute’s new portfolio of postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. She also implemented the Futures Institute’s strategic and operational plans for the education team. Katie was a coach on the Edinburgh Futures Institute’s undergraduate elective ‘Students As Change Agents’ and was nominated for an “Edinburgh University Students’ Association” award by her students. She works closely with colleagues and teams across the University to support the Institute’s challenge-led, collaborative approach.
Previously, Katie set up a non-governmental organisation with a mission to improve the lives of young people in Scotland. She has also worked internationally in the West Bank and Greece for non-profit organisations. With experience working across sectors, and a focus on sustainability, education, sport, and creative projects, Katie continues to contribute to innovative projects alongside her role at the Edinburgh Futures Institute. Katie has a Double Honours in International Relations and Art History from the University of St Andrews.
