Katrina supports the Edinburgh Futures Institute’s communications and marketing team in the development and tactical implementation of a range of communications and marketing initiatives, plans and campaigns, including the promotion of research, events and recruitment. She is responsible for creating, sourcing, and maintaining content for the Futures Institute’s website (news items, blogs, case studies), social media channels, and newsletters. She also provides support for the creation and management of physical and digital assets ensuring they are aligned with the Future Institute’s branding.

Katrina has published creative and academic writing throughout her career, including an academic monograph on film and urban studies with Edinburgh University Press. She has an MA in Cultural and Critical Studies from the University of Westminster, and a PhD in Film and Media studies from Queen Margaret University. She also has a professional diploma in UX design. Her professional background includes working in the third sector, higher education, and broadcast media production.
