Mary is a Learning Technologist within the Education Team at EFI. She works closely with Course Organisers and Programme Directors to support their use of digital technologies for teaching and learning. She facilitates the innovative and exploratory use of technology for equitable access to learning through EFI’s unique Fusion teaching approach. The Learning Technology team apply a research-informed approach, in collaboration with academic colleagues, to create high quality learning experiences for all students, wherever and however they are accessing their programmes.

Mary is an online learning facilitator, designer and researcher with over ten years’ experience, specialising in participatory online approaches to education for sustainability, equity and social justice. She is committed to challenging work and educational practices to create a fairer education system for all: promoting ethically grounded learning experiences for the well-being of people and planet. She has a degree in Environmental Education, a PGCE in Primary Education and a Masters in Outdoor, Environmental and Sustainability Education. Her research interests include teaching and learning for climate justice; the integration of diverse ways of knowing into understandings of sustainability; and examining transformative and participatory approaches to online, blended and hybrid learning.
