Sabine leads on the development and delivery of the undergraduate provision, including both the MA (Hons) Interdisciplinary Futures and a suite of elective courses open to students from across the university. She works closely with a small team of academic staff drawn from all three Colleges as well as with EFI’s education team to support innovative course design that incorporates challenge-led and experiential learning.
Sabine’s academic background is in History and Literature. Having previously held posts in Germany and Manchester, she joined the University of Edinburgh about 20 years ago, as lecturer in the School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures. In addition to her passion for innovative teaching and assessment methods, she has a keen interest in education management. She holds a chair in Student Education (Interdisciplinary Education), has been Dean of Education for the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences for many years, and is closely involved in the university’s Curriculum Transformation Project.
