Sarah Ames is the Digital Scholarship Librarian at the National Library of Scotland. With over a decade of experience working in the cultural heritage sector, she is passionate about ethical data use for social good. She collaborates on research exploring cultural heritage and technology, and is eager to shape new heritage futures with EFI.
Sarah is eager to collaborate with researchers and students, and to work together to envision, predict, and create new futures for heritage. She has over ten years’ experience in the cultural heritage sector and a background in humanities research. Sarah has collaborated on a wide range of research initiatives bringing together digital tools and methods to explore the national collections.

Background
Sarah is Digital Scholarship Librarian at the National Library of Scotland, with responsibility for Digital Research, including the Library’s open data platform, Data Foundry. She has collaborated on a wide range of research initiatives bringing together digital tools and methods to explore the national collections.
She has a PhD in nineteenth century literature, as well as postgraduate qualifications in Library and Information Studies, and Data Science.
