Valentina leads on the development of the Edinburgh Futures Institute research environment and the design and implementation of the research strategy. She is responsible for providing operational and strategic advice to research centres, hubs and clusters affiliated with EFI and researchers who work on challenge-led and collaborative projects. Valentina also manages a portfolio of internal funds to support activities led by staff and students affiliated with EFI and other core initiatives promoting collaboration and engagement between different Schools and Colleges.
Valentina has a degree in Marketing and Institutional Communication from the University of Siena, in Italy, and has been working for almost 20 years in research offices within the Higher Education Institution sector, both in the UK and abroad. Before joining EFI, she worked at the Monash University Centre in Prato and the Edinburgh College of Art.
