Digital Humanities Climate Coalition

The Digital Humanities Climate Coalition is a collaborative and cross-institutional initiative focused on understanding and minimising the environmental impact of DH research.

The Digital Humanities Climate Coalition is a collaborative and cross-institutional initiative focused on understanding and minimising the environmental impact of DH research. Participants are based at Universities and DH Centres across the UK, Ireland, and Northern Europe. DHCC is a Community Interest Group of the UK-Ireland Digital Humanities Association. 


Digital Humanities Climate Coalition Toolkit 

As a community, the DHCC has built an online toolkit that supports researchers to understand and lower the carbon footprint of their research practices.  This living resource was first published in 2022 and continues to expand and be developed by researchers and data professionals.

  • A Researcher Guide to Writing a Climate Justice-Oriented Data Management Plan

As a community interest group with the new UK-Ireland DH Association, we host monthly meet ups for those interested in climate responsible digital research. To be kept in the loop about meetups, ask to joining the DHCC mailing list by emailing efi.innovation@ed.ac.uk.
