Across 2026 we are running a bold programme of exploration, inviting a variety of stakeholders to consider what’s needed from our university sector in the coming years.

Our programme of distinct events across two days in September offers leaders, academics, students, policy makers, industry, and all those interested in the future of universities, a stimulating platform to engage in the big themes and questions of our time. All events are free to attend and must be booked separately.
No. The events programme is structured as a series of independent, standalone conversations, rather than a traditional academic conference with speaker presentations. There are no shared networking areas, coffee breaks, or general convening rooms between events.
The events programme is open to all, and will also be of particular interest to those with a stake in the future of higher education including those from:
- Higher education: leaders, academics, professional services, students
- Policy and public affairs: government, regulators, civil society
- Research, innovation and industry: funders, the AI community, EdTech, employers
- Media and influencers: journalists, commentators, thought leaders
Yes, you can book all events! Please ensure you book each event separately, so if you would like to attend all six events you will have six separate registrations.
No. If you are attending more than one event on Day 1 or Day 2 and are seeking refreshments, we recommend you go to Canopy Cafe and Restaurant located on Level 1 of our building. There are also many other cafes and restaurants in the area.
Day 1
Disruption: AI, Knowledge, Public Purpose
Conversations will explore future of research and scholarship, teaching and learning, and the role of universities in defending truth, free speech, and open inquiry.
Day 2
Response: Leadership, Global Design, Institutional Futures
Conversations will explore how universities should be led, governed, and rebuilt in the face of disruptions including the rapid development of technology and AI.
