EFI House

Join the EFI student and alumni network and explore new opportunities.

EFI House is your “home away from home”— an exclusive initiative created to foster lifelong connections, collaboration, and community for all Edinburgh Futures Institute (EFI) students and alumni, and to connect you with the wider research and innovation ecosystem.

The space

Located in  a unique room within the building, the EFI House social space is a welcoming environment exclusively designed for you. In addition to the facilities available throughout the Futures Institute building, this dedicated drop-in space is yours to use for informal conversations, collaboration, and networking. Open to all EFI students and alumni weekdays during opening hours – no need to book, just drop-in anytime.

Upcoming events and seminars

We host an annual programme of exclusive free events and seminars just for students and alumni. These activities are designed to strengthen ties across cohorts, disciplines, and the wider research and innovation ecosystem to support you on your professional journey.

A person speaks into a microphone; groups of people mingle and talk in a large room; two women stand by plants, whilst others speak in a modern office with exposed beams.

Internal

“With EFI House, we want to create a global EFI community and network that stretches well beyond your time as a student at EFI. We want to provide both a physical space  in the beautiful EFI building for you to continue to connect socially with each other, and a series of opportunities to keep learning together in exclusive seminars on topics that interest and excite you.”

Neneh Rowa-Dewar, Director of Students
