Each month we select a method, and we have an honest and practical discussion on what it takes to learn and master it. How much time will it take to get the basics? What are the software options available? What are the most common pitfalls? Where can you find more info on the subject? etc…
The method of this month is GIS, or Geographic Information Systems. GIS is a computer system that combines maps and databases to help people create, manage, and analyse information about places. (Click here for an overview of GIS for research).
This is a beginner-friendly session. No previous knowledge on the topic is required/expected, and the trainer will cover the basics of the method.
