Giulia Ajmone Marsan, an innovation strategist with nearly two decades of experience, has been instrumental in fostering and scaling innovation ecosystems globally. Her work aligns closely with Edinburgh Futures Institute’s mission of collaborative innovation and interdisciplinary approaches.
Giulia aims to share and exchange knowledge, focusing on co-creation and collaborative innovations to address global challenges such as the green transition and economic inequalities. She brings a wealth of knowledge on innovation in high-growth emerging markets, which are invaluable to the Institute’s global perspective.

Background
Giulia is currently Head of Startups and Inclusion at E-DISC, part of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA). She has a strong background in economic policy, having worked and partnered with various international organisations, development banks, and UN agencies. Giulia holds a PhD in Economics and Complex Systems and serves on several high-profile international committees, including the OECD, the G20 and the World Economic Forum’s Expert Network.
