As Research Administrator at the Edinburgh Futures Institute, Heather McCartney works with the Head of Research Support, Director of Research and Research Proposals Manager to support our Research Clusters, other staff and students affiliated with the Institute, and Visiting Fellows.
Heather studied Law and an MA in International Development at the University of Sheffield before moving to Edinburgh and joining the University as an Administrative Assistant at the School of Informatics in 2022. She joined the Edinburgh Futures Institute as Research Administrator in March 2025. Since October 2023 she has been undertaking a part-time MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies with the University of Strathclyde.
