Ingrid works with the University of Edinburgh’s Estates department, the design team and Edinburgh Futures Institute end-users to ensure the 21,000m2 building is fit for purpose and ready to operate once the Institute occupies its permanent home on Lauriston Place.

Ingrid is an experienced communications and project management specialist with an MSc in Biology and a postgraduate educational degree. Her background is in corporate communications, marketing and PR with senior roles in Higher Education including Scientific Communications Manager with the University of Edinburgh, Utrecht University, and at the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine. Ingrid’s strong communications skillset is complemented by deep expertise and experience in stakeholder engagement – leading on numerous projects within the University of Edinburgh and beyond. She is currently responsible for managing the complex stakeholder environment of the Futures Institute’s new home and the challenge of readying the iconic Edinburgh landmark for 21st century occupation and use. Ingrid enjoys a team based approach to identifying and solving problems and provides strategic advice and guidance to senior management. 

In an immensely varied role, she covers a wide variety of projects and activities, from guiding VIP tours of the building, to creating our online tours, to helping ensure community involvement in the historic hospital site through our community engagement work with local groups. Ingrid is looking forward to helping the Futures Institute settle into its new home in 2024.
