Sustainable Lands and Cities brings together people who are committed to creating, shaping, and conserving sustainable communities. The programme is designed for both recent graduates and professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds in the public, private, and third sectors.
We focus on the fundamental nature of land; how it can be defined, understood, managed and used. You will develop the skills needed to influence and create resilient and sustainable relationships between lands and cities. Exploring rural and urban environments, harnessing practices of smart growth, understanding planetary boundaries, and opportunities for advocacy for justice and equity.

This programme is available full-time over one year, or part-time over two or three years. You can register for a full MSc, a Postgraduate Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate.
Our teaching model allows choice as to how you study – with options to study online or on-campus at the level of each individual course. Please note, we may not always be able to guarantee your first choice of study mode for every course you take. International students coming to Edinburgh on a study visa, are required to take all their courses on-campus due to immigration restrictions.
