Getting to work

Running, running, running. Blossom falling.

Scanning fence for the gap. Squeezing through.

Arrived. Uniform on. Day begins.

Caring a touchpoint with others. Caring a privilege.

The Corridor

Footsteps on the corridor of black and white.

Connecting pavilions, departments, wards.

Chilly and silent in the night.

Long and curving, sloped and broad.

Patients in transit, arriving, leaving.

Trolley with newspapers, stamps and treats.

Life of the hospital always moving.

Wheels on the corridor, marching feet.

Life and death

Alarm bell sounds. Crash call.

Stand ready. Responsibilities agreed. Blue light. Trolleys.

A family. Strive to save all.

Not possible. The fathers gone.

Son speeds to ward 20. Mother sits waiting. Terrible news to be conveyed.

A family shattered in a moment.

Time to care for Dad one last time.
