A key partnership between the British University in Dubai (BUiD) and the University of Edinburgh is shedding new light on future city sustainable regeneration. The Centre for Future Infrastructure UoE partnership involving colleagues in Schools of Engineering, Geosciences and Architecture is investigating the potential for enhanced sustainable regeneration within one of the Dubai old quarters. The project involves the development of future design and sustainability for neighbourhood regeneration through inclusive community approaches.

The project is part of the Dubai-Edinburgh Sustainability Institute a sustainability centre focused on innovation in environmental research. In this context, sustainability encompasses not only the environmental but also the socioeconomic and socio-political components. The Dubai-Edinburgh Sustainability Institute (DESI) welcomes researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs from Dubai, the Middle East and the wider world.
